At JAX we were informed of a new 6 hour rule – If your connecting time is more than 6 hours they will not check the luggage through to destination. Our connecting flight to Lvov was in 23 hour. We transferred our overnight stuff from our carryon and were happy about it. The JetBlue flight from Jacksonville to JFK was very nice. We were told to take the airtrain from our arriving terminal 5 to our departure terminal 1. In the large central hall of terminal 1 we could not find any signs for Airtrain. Finally asked someone and he led us to an unmarked passage way and told us to make a right when we exited. Then we found a sign and a long escalator. The business class flight to Warsaw was great. Boeing 787 Dreamliner is nice. Seats convert to a bed and we both slept. Warsaw hasn’t changed much from a year ago. The same streets are still dug up (supposedly building another metro line). Public transportation is great, though. Trams run every 2-3 min and are new, modern and even air conditioned. This is our second time in the JM hotel, which is on top floors of an office building. It has a huge rooms (ours is about 650 sq ft), good location, and very reasonable prices. We just dropped our luggage at the hotel and spent the day visiting and walking. First Bo’s stepmom and dad’s grave in the Powazki cemetery, then her friend Basia and family for a 2 hour walk through some funky Warsaw neighborhoods. Finally, we got to a pub at 10 for several beers and Polish food. Crashed at 11:30
but jetlag got Al up at 3:30.
